The Flutterbies need you!

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Dear fans and friends of The Flutterbies,

We’ve recently been presented with an exciting opportunity to tour the East Coast in May! A full weekend of shows in New York, Baltimore, and Delaware is leading to more bookings in more cities, but before we can confirm any new gigs we need to raise some money for traveling, hotel, and other expenses. To that end, we’re very excited to offer you the chance to wrap your ears and eyes around some Flutterbies collectables and, in the process, to become co-sponsors of our tour!

Here’s how it works: Below are five sponsorship packages, each including additional unique items. Whichever interests you, please click its PayPal link and you’ll instantly become an official sponsor of The Flutterbies East Coast Tour 2010. Thank you so much!

Video Killed The Radio Star….The January 2010 Newsletter

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Hey, y’all…We are thrillled to announce the world premiere of our first official music video, “HOW I GET OVER YOU”!

It’s a cool mini-movie, featuring sideshow stunning Mindy Sterling (“Austin Powers” star), one very evil & gorgeous Tracy Mueller (S-Factor pole dancer extraordinaire) as Maureen’s nemesis and Erisa Byrd & Shayna Cole (also from S-Factor). Boy Candy includes models Lawson Digby and Dove Benari…Fancy Cars! Movie Stars! Loud Guitars! Full credits on youtube.com…

Shot on site at makeup/hair artist Justefanie’s home and The Good Nite Bar in Burbank

Metrogum TV Features The Flutterbies Many thanks to our TV/Film music Rep Josh Sanderson @ Black Sand Music for hooking us up with Josh Finn @ Metrogum.com. Metrogum’s crew came out to Maureen’s recent birthday show / Black Sand signing party (with Shane Alexander) and filmed the night for a January web feature.

Here are the links to the first 2 features:

Says Josh Finn: “Metrogum is a music Web series focusing on the cross roads where indie music meets new media! We live in that space and scour the aftermath of the digital explosion picking up the pieces and spotlighting the artists and stories that come from it. Join us as we share what we find along the journey!”

Year-End Kudos

Each December, in a special year-end issue, Music Connection magazine publishes best-of-the-year lists for both recorded and live music. They say they "carefully skim the cream of the crop," and… we rose to the top! The Flutterbies appear on both their Top 25 New Music Critiques and Hot 100 List of Live Unsigned Bands for 2009. The issue, with Sting on the cover, is available at most national booksellers, newsstands, and Guitar Center stores. The top lists are also posted online:

Radio Radio

The Flutterbies continue to widen our international audience… This month, we’re on the radio in Canada! Our song "Louder Louder" is featured in a podcast called The Rock and Roll Report that also airs on CKUT FM radio in Montreal. DJ Mark Boudreau gave us this fine, fine introduction:

This is a great band… This is a great song, and it just says it all for me. This is "Louder Louder" by a band called The Flutterbies. And, I mean, what else can you do with a song called "Louder Louder" than turn it up! So turn it up…

Turn it up, indeed! Click here to stream the podcast. (We’re on 28 minutes into the show.)

Merci, Mark and Montreal!

Stocking Full of Flutterbies

Our EP The Flutterbies featuring Maureen Davis is for sale online, still and always, at iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon, Rhapsody, etc. The CD fits snugly into most stockings, and makes a lovely surface on which to spin dreidels after you’ve ripped it to your hard drive. So this holiday season… buy us, baby, buy us!

Happy/Merry, y’all!
