SECRET SIDESHOWS

Saturday, July 14th, 2012

Hey Flutterbies Fans, Friends & Family – we’ve been playing back-to-back concerts with our alter-egos MAUREEN & THE MERCURY 5. It’s a Jump Swing Rockabilly Thang! Think Brian Setzer meets Ann Margret…Maureen Davis on vocals, Adam Daniel on harmonies, Steve Whalen on Bass and Kats Konecky on drums, we’ve been rockin’ this town inside out with growly guitarists like Eitaro Sako (Phat Cat Swinger, Lil Mo & The Dynaflos) on Gretsch and Peter Kavanaugh on classic Telecaster. In May, we played to thousands at the LA Arthritis Walk on the Santa Monica Pier and the West Coast BBQ Classic at the Queen Mary. July 4th we packed the Queen’s Salon on the Queen Mary with musical fireworks of our own!

Phat Cat Swinger frontman Douglas “The Crooner” Roegiers has been guest starring, adding his own Rat Pat style to Maureen’s Hot Rod steam…The set list features 50’s classics plus a few new retro-originals for good measure. Joining us are dance pals, THE HOLLYWOOD HOTSHOTS — Lindy Hopping, jumping over tables and flying through the air. They have been featured in Gloria Estefan’s “Hotel Nacional” and Foster the People’s “Houdini” videos as well as the 2012 Superbowl Budweiser commercial.

Though we might mention MAUREEN & THE MERCURY 5 from time to time, we don’t want to intrude. If you’d like to be on the MAUREEN & THE MERCURY 5 mailing list, please click this link: MAUREEN & THE MERCURY 5

We’d love to see you at one of our upcoming shows!! We’re playing at Rusty’s Lindy By the Sea in Playa Del Rey, Hip Kitty Jazz & Fondue in Claremont and most notably, every Saturday night in the Queen Mary Observation Bar, July 21 through October 6th! Whadaya say? All the cool kids will be there….you’re gonna drive too fast and dance all night….all dates and details on the M&M 5 website.

Flutterby Maureen in Star-Studded CATS FOR CATS
